Please help!

4 posts in this topic

Right, basically, me and 3 friends have aquired a good-working functional landrover 109 1983 model.

I have read rules which state vehicle must not be over 9 years of age.

Does this rule apply if you are NOT planning on donating the vehicle to the mongolian people at the end and wish to drive back?

It would be a crying shame if so due to the massive support, funds and donations we have ready and waiting!

i have also emailed the organisation to which they replied with a link to the vehicle rule book which said nothing about my question thus not really answering it..

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mike,

Thanks for your post. If you are not importing your vehicle into Mongolia and are just transiting, the 9-year rule does not apply.

Sorry if we weren't clear in our email to you.

Best regards,

Dave.

So if we, with an old Isuzu Trooper, were to drive back into Russia after reaching Ulaanbaatar, would that be acceptable? And would we have to pay any costs?

As far as I understand it, no. You have to consider donation of min1000GBP though.
